Sorry about the delayed updates, but let’s get to the point…

We’ll be going to the Bon Odori event at Panasonic Stadium, Shah Alam. This event is also known as the ‘ghost festival’ in Japan. There would be dance and food fair etc.

So if you’re interested in joining, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Hi everyone… It’s time for our Photography Annual General Meeting (AGM) again…

So, those who wish to be part of the new committee member for the 2009/2010 term, please attend the meeting… NO MATTER WHAT…!!! :P

Change in Trip Schedule

Dear friends,

Please Note that due to the May 2009 Orientation week, our society had no choice but to shift the Bukit Cahaya Agricultural Park trip to

31st May (SUNDAY)

instead of 30th of May.

So PLEASE take note of this change.

We will meet you at 7am at UTAR SA Block Lobby. Don’t be late.

It is expected that we arrive in UTAR at 6pm the same day. We will negotiate with the bus driver to drop off passengers at Jalan Genting Klang and Wangsa Maju.

Trip to KL Bird Park and Bukit Cahaya Agriculture Park

Hi there everyone.

The society will be organizing 2 trips this semester and here are the details:

TRIP 1 : KL BIRD PARK

Date: 12 April 2009 (Sunday, Between week 13 and 14)

Time: 8.30am to 3.00 pm

Price:

Members : RM 20 NOW: RM 18

Non-Members: RM 24 NOW: RM 22

*Due to a recent review of price, we’ve decided to reduce the ticket price. So please grab this opportunity to go!

We will be meeting at SA lobby on that Sunday morning at 8.30 am. Please arrive there sharp at 8.30 am.

The reason why the tickets are a bit expensive is because the entrance ticket is already RM 12 (Group Price). Still, we’re trying to make it possible for you to go! Also, the price inclusive of transport to and fro.

The price inclusive of entrance ticket to the agriculture park, the four season house and the transportation to and fro.

We will be meeting at SA lobby on that Saturday morning at 7.00 am. Please arrive there sharp at 7.00 am.

There are lot of things you can do over there – sight seeing, cycling, and lots of other things you can do. The best of all, you should be able to grab some great photographs. So remember to bring your tripods if you want to shoot the waterfall flowing!

Hey, we meet again!

More people turned up for the previous photo practice session and this time, we hope to see more of you!

So, here are the details:

Time: 5.00 pm SHARP, to 7.00 pm
Venue: Titiwangsa Lake
Meeting: Bus Stop opposite Tawakal Hospital of Jalan Pahang (Near Pahang Round-a-bout). I will be wearing UTAR lanyard, and waiting for you guys there. If you're going to be late, please inform ya!

Our theme would be model shooting and if you guys have friends who like you to take photos of them, invite them to come along!

Weekly Photo Practice #2

Hi everyone,

Things are going great for the first weekly photo practice and now, we're planning for the second one.

So, as usual, here are the details:

Date: 28 Feb 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 2.00 pm SHARP, to 4.00 pm
Venue: KLCC shopping mall and park
Meeting: KLCC PUTRA LRT station. I will be wearing UTAR lanyard, and waiting for you guys beside the small booths selling phone cards etc.

Please do not miss this opportunity to shoot photographs around KLCC. Your photographs may be printed for exhibition by the end of this semester!

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Canon might hold a sales expo on that day... For those who intend to buy a camera, may tag along too!

We will be having our very first weekly photo practice of the semester on this coming Saturday (14th February 2009). This time, we will be shooting photographs outdoor.

Arts and Science Week

Hi everyone. This week is the Arts and Science week. The exhibition will be from Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm. So DO drop by to visit our Photography Society Booth.

In addition, the photography society recruitment drive is ON. And those of you who are interested can join our society. New members are required to pay a membership fee of RM 10.00. This membership will last as long as you're here studying in UTAR. Please ask your friends to join!

Arts and Science Week

The Arts and Science Week will be held on the first week of the new semester itself. It will be from the 12th of January to 16th of January. So please drop by to take a look at some photos exhibited around the exhibition area.

At the same time, I need some people to help me with these few details:

1) the preparation of the exhibition booth, people to help during the exhibition.
2) ID photo taking session. I need someone to help during the photo taking session from the 5th of Jan to 9th of Jan. Please help. Non-members who would like to know some juniors are welcome too.

Our society is looking for volunteers during ID Photo Taking in year 2009.

If you are available or free from January 02, 2009 (Friday) to January 10, 2009 (Saturday), kindly contribute some of your time to help out in the ID photo taking. There will be 2 sessions - morning session (8.30 am to 12.00 pm) and afternoon session (1.00 pm to 4.00 pm).

Trip to MIFC

Overall, the trip to the fireworks display in Putrajaya is a success. Thank god there was no serious traffic congestion during our journey back to UTAR.

Here are the group photos for those who wish to have a soft copy of them.

All those who went for this trip will get 2 photographs as souvenir - 5R and 4R. Once they're printed, you will be informed to come forward to collect your photos.

Anyway, those who tagged along, please leave comments if you feel that there are parts that you are not satisfied with. This will help our organizing committee evaluate this trip and thus, allow better planning for future trips.

Trip to Talk....

The Trip to Malaysia International Fireworks competition (MIFC) is fully booked. A total of 43 students and 1 staff will be on the bus there. So for those who missed it, sorry about that.

We actually intended to charter another bus there, but unfortunately, Ms Ong asked us not to. This is due to the fact that UTAR convocation is on 30th of Aug, and the bus drivers may have to work to fetch UTAR staffs to Menara MCA. She wouldn't want to stress the bus drivers.

We will keep you updated with the latest trip schedule and those who are going, will receive an SMS notification and reminder. So don't worry.

Also, there will be a talk coming up on 20th August 2008 (Wed) by a Star Publication Photojournalist - Mr. Lai Voon Loong. He is one of the columnists in the StarMag and he has shared many valuable skills and knowledge with everyone. So this is not the time to miss the workshop. Do remember to drop by for the Talk.

Trip to MIFC

The upcoming activity for our society would be the trip to

Malaysia International Fireworks Competition (MIFC) at Putrajaya

Team Australia will be giving a grand show of pyrotechnics and you definitely DO NOT WANT TO MISS this Grand Finale Show.

Here's the summary of the trip:

Date : 29 August 2008 (Friday, Week 14)

Time : 2.30 pm to 1.00 am; fireworks show from 8.00 pm to 11.00 pm

Venue: Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC)

Price for Members: RM 12

Price for Non-members: RM 15

This trip inclusive of a 5R group photo and some light snacks.

If you're interested, do come to the registration booth and get yourself a place on the journey there. First come first serve basis.

*If we're lucky enough, we might be able to charter a second bus to the show.
